Usually when I hit the monks I cant take down, I just throw up enchants/prot spirit and run through to the next area. My general strategy is to keep going until I die.

well the monks can be killed...
take balth's aura with you and combine it with soj -> heavy dmg + knockdown
always works for me.
And if you can't bring down the monks just run away from them and move to the portal - there's this other map "Cursed Land" (or smth. like this )
which can be cleaned by 100% with the mo/d build

I usually take out:
-The Ranger group right on the hill as you exit.
-The group of Rangers usually at the farm house.
-The group of Graspings and Warlocks near hill
-The group of hounds and Warlocks
-The group of Rangers on the left of the ramp
-The group of Rangers on the right of the ramp
-The group of Mesmers and Monks
-The group of Warlocks and Mesmers
-Run through the Graspings/Monks/Mesmers into Cursed Lands
-Vanquish Cursed Lands
I only use Nebo Terrace (i think that's what it's called) as a way to getting to Cursed Lands. Thats where the fun begins (until you have to merchant off your full storage, or salvage everything)

I think the monks only spawn w/ the mesmer groups. I use a basic Mo/D build and bring along Holy Strike and Smite Hex. Works great for killing off the monks or making them heal themselves instead of the mesmers so they die off. I can usually kill the Cleric with one hit of SoJ, Holy Strike, and Smite Hex. After that its just the 2 monks which are not too hard to kill by themselves. The hardest group is the one at the end by the portal with the monks, mesmers, and grasps.

I havent tried anything further than clearing some Rangers, and most Caromi's.
This was on 330hp rit...ench stripping got a little annoying, but as long as PS is covered, its not too bad.
Guess Ill have to have a look around the other area, with skeletals...any ench removal/daze/e-drain to watch out for?

Nope. You only get drastic Health Degen which can be countered by Healing Breeze or Mystic Regen. Basically Mesmer hexes and Bleeding. Also Crippling from the Graspings. But no enchant. removal/daze or energy drain.

A funny "farming bergen" story for you. Just yesterday i decided I wanted to kill some undead. So I loaded up my Mo/D and headed out. I cast the enchants and go to kill the first group of undead rangers in front of the entrance, when I realize it's still on normal mode. (I hate that! ) But I thought, what the hell, I'll kill em anyways then zone back. One of them dropped a low dmg gold dead bow, with a perf sunder mod. So I go back to town, switch it to hard mode and head back out. Killed all the undead except that group with the monk and proceeded into the cursed lands. Got about half way thru then died cuz i wasn't paying attention. But, I did end up with an inventory full of blue, grape and even one gold armor which had a minor and a major vigor included in all of them. O ya, and that first group of undead archers outside bergen, one of them dropped another gold dead bow. Funniest part was, I was happier with the one that dropped in nm.........

Mo/D is the way to go and most defiantly hard Mode.......
I have so many death bows that all my heroes have one on all my characters.

People are still farming Bergen? The best weapons you can get are Sephis Axes and Dead Bows, both of which are pretty common in GWEN. Plus, the inscribable ones have brought down the price of the ones with inherent mods. I bought a Q9 inherent 15^50 for 10k. Sephis axes and Dead Bows are merched all the time. Try Temple of the Damned HM.
Unless you're farming for emblems, IMO you're just wasting your time.

I farm Bergen for 2 reasons. Decayed Orr Emblems for the collectors at holidays. Gold items to ID for Wisdom title. It is fast, easy, and makes me some money in the process. I don't waste my time sitting in towns selling stuff, as I would rather spend the time playing the game. Good items go to a character, unless I already have the 'best' on that character. Then it goes to a hero. My heroes have better weapons than most players do.

used to be a big ol bot hotspot. Bots seem to like to wear the tatoo armor and have silly foreign names.
anyone remember when elonas was like that?
